What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first visit at Complete Care Chiropractic is built around you. We take the time to understand your health, your history, and your goals — without rushing through paperwork or skipping the conversation. Here's how it actually works.

Before You Arrive

You'll complete your new patient paperwork before your first appointment so we can review your history in detail before you walk in. This means the time you spend with us is focused on you — not on filling out forms in the waiting room. You'll find your forms in a text link we send you the day you schedule your appointment.

The Intake Conversation

Your visit starts with a thorough conversation. Your chiropractor will ask about your symptoms, your health history, what you've already tried, and what hasn't worked. We're looking for the details — we want the full picture so we can build a treatment plan that actually addresses the root cause of your discomfort.

The Assessment

After the intake conversation, your provider will perform a comprehensive physical assessment based on what came up in your history. Depending on your presentation, this may include orthopedic testing, neurological screening, movement assessment, and evaluation of the surrounding regions that may be contributing to your symptoms. Everything will be explained as it happens. Understanding what is going on and why is really important for both patients and doctors.

Treatment

In most cases, treatment begins at your first visit. Your chiropractor will walk you through what they found, explain what's driving your symptoms, and discuss a recommended approach before anything begins. You'll always know what's happening and why. Treatment may include chiropractic adjustments, manual soft tissue therapy, Graston Technique, cold laser therapy, stretching protocol, or massage therapy — all coordinated under one roof.

A Whole-Body Approach

We treat your body as a whole, not isolated pieces. Our team evaluates your entire musculoskeletal system — bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, fascia, scar tissue, and tendons — to identify everything that may be contributing to your pain or dysfunction. This is what allows us to achieve complete care and long-lasting results.

What Should I Wear?

Comfortable, flexible clothing is recommended. Athletic wear or anything that allows easy movement works well so your provider can fully assess your range of motion. Anything is fine, though.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to become a patient?

No referral is required. You can book directly as a new patient through our online scheduler or by calling or texting our office at (716) 580-3577. We work with patients who self-refer as well as those sent by their physician, physical therapist, or OB-GYN.

What conditions do you treat?

Our team treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:

Do you accept insurance?

We are out of network with private insurance, but our fees are comparable to most co-pays. Additionally, our front desk can print what's called a Superbill. This is a detailed receipt that many of our patients privately submit to their insurance carrier for partial or sometimes full reimbursement. We also accept most HSA and FSA cards. Our team will be happy to walk you through any of the details in this process.

How long is the first appointment?

First visit is around 30 minutes. Follow-up visits are typically 15 minutes. Our appointments still give your provider enough time for a thorough evaluation and treatment.

How many visits will I need?

That depends on your lifestyle, your condition, and how your body responds to care. After your first visit, your provider will give you an honest assessment with a realistic expectation of progress and timeframe. We want you to heal as quickly as possible, and many of our patients transition to wellness or maintenance care once their original concern has resolved.

Can I come in if I'm pregnant?

Yes — we are known for caring for pregnant women. We provide specialized prenatal chiropractic care including the Webster Technique, prenatal massage, and gentle adjustments on dedicated prenatal tables. Our certified providers are trained to support you safely throughout every stage of pregnancy.

Do you treat children?

Yes. We provide pediatric chiropractic care for children of all ages. Our gentle, age-appropriate techniques help children with posture, growth-related discomfort, sports activity, and overall musculoskeletal wellness.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Comfortable, flexible clothing is recommended. Athletic wear or anything that allows easy movement works well so your provider can fully assess your range of motion.

How is your approach different?

We treat the entire musculoskeletal system — not just the spot that hurts. By evaluating joints, ligaments, fascia, muscles, and tendons together, we address everything contributing to your symptoms in a coordinated treatment plan. Learn more about our approach or read what our patients say in our Google reviews.
