Licensed Massage Therapist

Karle Norman brings more than two decades of experience as a licensed massage therapist, along with a thoughtful, collaborative approach to the work. He began his massage therapy education immediately after graduating from Frontier High School, earned his degree from the New York Institute of Massage, and obtained his New York State licensure in August 2004.

Karle began his professional career at Scott Miller in Rochester, NY, where he developed a particular interest in working with endurance athletes. He especially enjoyed supporting triathletes and long distance runners before and after events, helping them make the most of their training. After returning to the Buffalo area he continued his work at Falling Waters Spa in Ellicottville, NY, where alongside massage he provided active isolated and gentle passive stretching to help guests prepare for active days on the slopes.

Today Karle's practice centers on therapeutic and medical massage, with a particular interest in deep tissue and myofascial work. His approach is deliberate and unhurried, emphasizing the importance of working with the body rather than against it. He believes deep tissue massage does not need to be rushed or painful to be effective. By allowing the body time to soften and release resistance, deeper work can become a restorative experience that supports both physical well being and relaxation.

For Karle, massage is most effective when it is a collaboration between therapist and client. Establishing trust, comfort, and open communication allows the work to be responsive to each person's needs. He takes a quiet, attentive approach during sessions, giving clients the space to relax, turn inward, and connect with their own experience while remaining present and responsive to their feedback.

Outside of massage therapy, Karle is a visual artist working in painting and leather based sculpture. His work has been exhibited at the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Hunt Gallery, and the University at Buffalo's Center for the Arts, among other venues. When he is not working you can find him grilling a meal for friends, enjoying time in the woods, and attending local art events and standup comedy shows.
